New Year Images 2017Happy New Year! I’d like to suggest this year that you’ll never change your mood by reliving past experiences. There are good memories, but many of them only make us feel worse. As an example, Jeremiah’s remembrance of God’s faithful love brought about a change in the prophet’s emotions.

“The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.” 1

John 3:16Happy Valentines! Isn’t it wonderful to know that we are so loved and forgiven by God.  Before receiving His grace, our hearts were filled with guilt and shame, but now His faithful love fills that emptiness.

“May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” 1

An Insightful Response…

Here's a letter from James in Canada, an elementary school teacher for 35 years, writing,

spring 2017Springtime Greetings! I pray this month will be a wonderful time of Spiritual awakening and growth. Springtime is not only the season between winter and summer, but the period of life in which one passes from childhood to maturity. 1

“Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.” 2

From Childhood to Maturity…

cross mtsoledadsmallHappy Resurrection Season! It’s always a joy to bring forth the monthly view, especially during Easter. Unlike C.E.O.s (Christmas Easter Only – Christians who worship only twice a year), we’re to celebrate daily the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. For example, listen to the apostle Paul,

“I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!” 1

Youth for Christ Response…

Here’s a request from Justin, a minister to jailed juveniles, while working with Youth for Christ.

mother s day mediumHappy Mother’s Day! I am perplexed by how many of you stumble upon this site looking for Manson madness, then quickly turn away when the testimony of Jesus Christ is mentioned. Won’t you give Jesus a chance?

“God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.” 1

A Welcome Response…

Occasionally, I receive letters from those finding me through the Inmate Locator, not realizing I have a website, such as Welburn’s letter below. For this reason, it’s important that you share this website with your friends and family.

Happy Father’s Day! It always amazes me to read the responses from the website. This month I share a letter from Michael, who asked me to share a Scripture that has helped me through difficult times. That was easy for me to answer; it’s Romans 8:28, 29.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

From the Mailbox…

“I wrote because I read you’re a Christian, and I thought you could help me out. I was born in Virginia, raised in a small town in MA, and at age eleven, we moved to Greensboro, NC. After high school, I joined the Marine Corps. I was with an infantry battalion stationed in 29 Palms (CA). I served two tours of duty in Iraq in ’03 and ’04. The war was both traumatic and rewarding. It made me feel how fortunate I was to be both born and raised in the U.S.A.

Happy Independence Day! Let’s be honest about our sins, guilt, and shame, then be thankful that God has made the way for us to be liberated from our past, present and future sins.

“…always thanking the Father…For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” 1

A Canadian Response...

It’s always such a blessing to receive praise reports, but the one below from Courtney in New Brunswick, Canada is extra special.

sierrasummerWelcome! It’s always a privilege to be able to speak into the lives of those who visit the website, especially after being delivered from such a horrific past. I thank God, whose Word I now base my life for the future.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 1

san diegoWelcome! In this view, I’ll be sharing how my Bible (a companion for forty-two years) was stolen during chapel service, about my transfer to a Southern California prison and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is the Good News.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” 1

What’s New?

A Christian bother from New Jersey named Rich, wrote thanking God for His redeeming love toward those who seem would be unredeemable, expressing…

thanksgivingHappy Thanksgiving! I pray that your holidays are filled with thanksgiving for God’s love and grace appropriated for power to overcome every circumstance in life. For me, I’ve moved to San Diego, California, where I’m settling into a new program, which is going well.

“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1

In Everything Give Thanks…

I’m not thankful for prison, but I’m learning to be thankful in every circumstance, not thankful for everything, but thankful in everything.

hollyMerry Christmas! I’m so glad that you’ve taken the time to check on me during your busy holiday. I’ll be sharing an amazing testimony of Jesus from Marciá, who awoke to God’s love for her. The apostle Paul put it this way:

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” 1

A Darkened Past…

Marciá explained that she was involved with Victim’s Services in Amarillo, Texas, as a result of her mom’s rape and murder in 1989. She “carried the torch” to keep her killer in prison by releasing her hurt, anger and heartbreak in letters to the parole board. But at the same time, she found forgiveness, especially after the killer’s death in the prison hospital as a broken old man.
