January 2016

john316Happy New Year beloved! Our sole purpose is simply to help you experience the awesome love of God. Fear, guilt and shame lose their hold in light of God's love and grace at the cross.

"Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His perfect love." 1

Experiencing God's Love...

Recently, I heard from a fine young man named Sean in Los Angeles. He is an example of someone experiencing freedom from the power of darkness.

"I'm so happy to receive your letter and the brochure on How I Met Manson. After reading them, my family thinks you aren't so evil anymore. I'm so glad!

We checked out your website, and I'm sharing it with others to help them. I really believe people can change for the better.

Like you said, 'God is love', and I think more people need to experience His love and their lives. I know when my life was full of sin and darkness, the only way to the light was through God.

I've been happy since that time. God and I should have been friends a long time ago. I'm so glad he is now! My sister and I will be praying for you. God bless!"

Be sure to contact us with your praise reports. This way we know our efforts are having an effect and not in vain.

Love Expels Fear...

This may be a hard concept for you to wrap your head around. Think about when you were a child running to your mom or dad and fear of an older sibling. Better yet, think about running into the arms of your dad in fear of being punished by your mom or vice versa. Similarly, we run into the arms of God and fear of being punished, knowing that He loves us by placing our sin upon Jesus at the cross.

"God showed how much he loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love - not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent His son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." 2

This is absolute truth from the Holy Bible. God put all your sin upon Jesus. He took all your punishment upon himself for then, to take away your fear of punishment. Once you experience God's love through being born-again you'll no longer be afraid as a child of God. You'll know the love of your caring Heavenly Father.

God's Perfect Love...

Simply put, the knowledge of God's perfect love frees us from fear. I was experiencing the fear of failure and of being judged in the sixties. Not living up to the expectations of others cause emotional pain that I medicated with alcohol, drugs and sex. Because I was blinded to the love of God, I allowed fear to propel me to anger and hostility, hurting others.

As a result, I lived with a load of guilt and shame for years, until God's love and forgiveness through Christ was revealed to me. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." 3

God's power regenerated my spirit with His love when I was miraculously born of His spirit. He gave me authority to cast down guilt and fearful thinking, because of the knowledge of His love and forgiveness. He empowered me to overcome shameful emotions and to live a disciplined life of purity; all because of His perfect love.

"For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God." 4

Receive freedom today!

We all have a sin nature that holds us captive to sin causing fear, guilt and shame to reign before receiving Christ. We're even told "...the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." 5

Once you receive Jesus through faith in His death, burial and resurrection, He regenerates your sinful nature [spirit] with His divine nature [spirit]. He empowers you with authority to cast fear, guilt and shame out of your thoughts, so you become enabled to live a healthy emotional life of love.

"By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life... He has given us great and precious promises ...that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises." 6

As you respond to God's promises in 2016, commit to:

"Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence... knowledge... self-control... and affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." 7

A Prayer For You...

Heavenly Father, I don't want to live this way anymore. Today, I release all my failings, sins and mistakes into Your loving hands. And I receive Your forgiveness right now into my heart. Thank You for Your precious blood that washes whiter than snow. Right now I stand in Your righteousness, favor, joy, and peace. Your perfect forgiveness and Your perfect love are raining all over me because of Your Son's finished work in my life. Take away every lingering sense of guilt, ugliness, and condemnation in me. I believe with all my heart that right now when You look at me, You see me in Christ Jesus. I am clothed in His robes of righteousness, favor, and blessings. Thank You for Your abundance of grace and Your gift of righteousness in my life. Through Jesus, I will rain in this life over everything, addiction, and failure. In Jesus' name, Amen!
