January 2014

treetrunkWelcome. I pray that God’s goodness will become real to you this year, and that His love will be experienced deep in your heart. The psalmist David said, “I would have fainted, unless I believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.1

The purpose of this website is to show you the goodness of God. As members of the body of Christ, we represent Jesus Christ on Earth. “And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the Devil, for God was with Him.”2 So what would Jesus do in 2014?

Seek and Save The Lost…

First, He would tell everyone that He came 2000 years ago to seek and save the lost at the cross.3 That He died there fore their sins and rose again to give eternal life, which was in expression of His love for them. This is the Good News:

…God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”4

Destroy The Devil’s Works…

As a sinner, the devil was really working in my life. Although, I chose to serve the devil, God still loved me, but I just didn’t realize it. The Bible says:

Satan, who is the god if this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.”5

The Good News is that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.6 He did that for us through His death, burial and resurrection, and ‘’…every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.7

Destroy Sin’s Control…

As a Christian, sin loses its power as we focus on our victory in Christ. As we meditate upon our new identity in Christ, …”we know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ, so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.”8

But sin, self and Satan don’t give up easily. Along with an accountability partner, you will need to fight the good fight of faith by speaking God’s Word.

Do not sin control the way you live, do nit give into sinful desires. Do not let an part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourself completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as instrument o do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the laws. Instead you live under the freedom of God’s grace.9

Live Under God’s Grace…

Your problem could be that you are living under the law instead of grace. The apostle Paul says. “I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there is no need for Christ to die.10

He went on to write:

“So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again to slavery to the law…For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.”11

You may be trying to overcome sin by your own power to keep the law instead of by the power of God’s grace.

God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the things He planned for us long ago.12

A Prayer For You...

Heavenly Father, I pray that from Your glorious, unlimited resources You will empower me with inner strength through Your Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in my heart as I trust him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep me strong. And may I have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May I experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then I will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God’s love. Thank you, in Jesus Name, Amen. 13
